On a typical Saturday you could find Haley and Micah walking to a bakery where they'd have some coffee and pastries, then swing by the farmer's market, and meet up with some friends. Reading would also be involved in there somewhere.

What do you love about your marriage most?

Haley: It’s just a really really good friendship. I think a lot of people go into marriage thinking its going to be so different from what the rest of the relationship was like, but then you’re married and realize how important the friendship part really is, and I think we do that really well.
Micah: It’s just fun and normal and easy. There’s not all this drama or pressure. Do we even call the conversations we have as fights, I don’t think we can?! It’s good.

What is the best memory from your wedding day?

Haley: After the ceremony, we took pictures just the two of us. We climbed a hill and were just taking pictures and it was just fun, and we were finally married, and had waited for this.  All of a sudden a bunch of ants climbed into my dress and we were running to get away from the ants and we then went back inside. We got to eat dinner just the two of us. It was really casual and felt like us.
Micah: Haley walking down the aisle. I freaked out.

What is the funniest memory from your wedding day?

Haley: My mom dancing to "Baby Got Back."

What do you do that leads to your best communication?

Haley: He can’t read my mind and I can’t read his mind either. It’s really important for me to be really blunt, just say what I am feeling or wishing. For example, if I am wanting him to do little nice things for me as a surprise sometime. It isn’t out of bound for me to tell him, Hey Micah, it’d be cool if on your way home you brought me some flowers. Or I feel like you weren’t paying attention to me when I was talking earlier. He’s not going to know otherwise and it isn’t worth it in the end.
Micah: Asking questions is huge. Or maybe you don’t know what question to ask, so just asking A question. For a while we would ask weekly questions. Like “how was your week,” “how did you feel loved this week,” “how can I pray for you this week.”

What does your spouse do to make you feel most loved?

Haley: Micah is really willing to learn how to function in a way that is contrary to his inclination. It really benefits me, I am a planner and I want to process every detail. He is really patient with me. He is really willing to try.
Micah: Taking interest in things that I take interest in. And for some reason that means a lot to me. Encouraging me to do things that I have interests in.
